University of Perpetual Help System Dalta became the latest team to enter the quarterfinals of the 2009 Nike Summer League, besting FEATI University, 76-63, on May 21 at the Far Eastern University.
The Altas established control in the second quarter to lead by 14 at halftime, 38-24. A Cris Elopre transition bucket was the game’s highest lead, 46-25, 6:44 in the third quarter.
Jason Salvado topped UPHSD with 21 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Elopre finished with 17 markers and Rommel Vivero 13.
Israel dela Cruz led FEATI with 23 points. Chris Relova had 13 markers and six boards.
Perpetual Help will go up against either Far Eastern University or De La Salle University from seniors Group C. Seniors Group B top seed San Beda College-Manila will face the other squad on June 4.
The Seahawks tried to make a game out of it in the final period but the closest they got was ten, the last occasion from dela Cruz charities, 2:06 in the game, 61-71.
Meanwhile, De La Salle Zobel makes it to the knockout rounds after defeating the Altalettes, 60-54.
Gwynne Capacio topped the Junior Archers with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Arnold Van Opstal produced 19 markers and nine rebbies. Luigi dela Paz scored 15.
Joseph Eriobu was at the helm for Perpetual with 16 points and five rebounds. RP Youth member Gelo Alolino put up 14 markers.
May 22 games start with an all-NCAA affair between San Beda College-Rizal and Malayan High School of Science at 9am. It would be followed by DLSU against Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila at 1030am.
At noontime, it would be Jose Abad Santos Memorial School versus Hope Christian High School for the crumbs. Don Bosco Technical College would go opposite University of the Philippines Integrated School at 1:30pm.
Finally, Jose Rizal University would battle Philippine College of Criminology at 3pm.
